Debbie (Bambi Woods) and her friends want to scare up money to accompany their team as cheerleaders to a match. The job-seeking turns out to be difficult, but as all the girls are very pretty, a lust bringing and also profitable source of income is soon presented to them… One after another, each girl appears in action. The final scene shows at last Debbie who gives a glamorous performance.
Under the title THE BEST LITTLE WHORE IN TEXAS!, this marvellous bedraggled pearl among porns should primary be shown in cinemas. To avoid trouble with the justice, they compromised on Debbie Does Dallas. This did not harm to the success of the film anyways. He belongs to the financially most successful porns ever and can even today be found in the Top 10 lists of enthusiasts of erotic art films.
Rapid and loosely produced sex scenes are what Debbie Does Dallas makes a brilliant film of. By this, he belongs to the classics which correspond dramaturgic most likely to the high-grade porns of present. That is to say that he contains a story which consequently and plausible leads us from one sex scene to the other instead of trying to develop a kind of complex feature film dramaturgy.
During the sex scenes, the film completely relies again on the effect of naked bodies affecting the spectator. No sign of sensationalism of which lots of ambitious porns fall into. Only elegant 70ies ambience and mostly very groovy music are admitted as stylistic device. Apart from that, everything else is produced plain and modest.
It is of course a little surprising that this film of all was the first porn finding its way on a theatre stage. In August 2001, Debbie Does Dallas celebrated first night at Broadway Theatre. Anyhow - the film deserves this late honour because Debbie Does Dallas has not forfeited anything of its original esprit until today. A milestone which is - relating to sharpness - in no way inferior to today's productions, and which leaves them as well behind in terms of coolness.
