SENSATIONS (Netherlands 1975)
Sensations portrays the erotic adventures, which Margaret and her friend Julie undergo in Amsterdam's artists scene. While Margaret at first does not know how to consider the flippant amusements of the people, Julie quickly addicts to these sweet attractions. After a visit at a sex-hungry female art collector and her sadomasochistic inclined friend, it takes only a short discussion between friends for Margaret to try finally out free love.
Cheerfully, the women visit a vernissage whose subject is - of course - modern erotic art. At the following party, it gets down to the nitty-gritty and a very excessive porn orgy begins. Sex freaks of all shades go about it creatively and extremely. A strange woman masturbates with a dildo in sight of the guests, another pisses into the mouth of a horny venerator, a man licks the cocaine-powdered clit of a posh woman, and smoking weed is as well custom. At the end of the party, the illustrious party guests turn to Margaret. Women and men start licking and biting her. Margaret is in fact laid by every trick in the book, because at the climax of her lust, the heroine of the film disappears into thin air. In the fraction of a second, she is off, and this glamorous film is over.
Sensations is erotic movie in pink of perfection. Lord of porn Lasse Braun (see also Body Love, Sex Maniacs and American Desire) fuses in his film porn, arts and hippie being the sleazy and almost surreal way. Autumnal Amsterdam, liberal-hedonistic climate in the city as well as drugs must have had a magical effect on the director and its crew.
Intelligent dialogues about sex and moral interfere with lacy anal- or blowjob scenes in delightful ambience. Therefore, it is difficult to elude oneself the curious ambience of this film.
By the choice of Brigitte Maier, the film has an extraordinary pretty and interesting main actress. She really seems to be a bit shy, what goes fabulous with the impression that the other ladies and gentlemen seem to be exhibitionistic assessed hedonists indeed. The soundtrack of the film also deserves to be emphasized. Music was never handled so sensitive in porn yet. The sugar-sweet title song is in hard contrast with what we hear during the film: Crazy but always-cool hippie music.
Sensations was of course a complete success and had as well hugely attendances, which let some reputable blockbusters look pale. You are looking for the ultimate avantgarde porn? We warmly recommend Sensations. Rating: Exceptionally valuable!
